Truly Inspired

This shoot with Keri Russel is from InStyle January 2009 and I remember it very well.
I was living in a dorm at that time and had all of the images taped to my walls.
Looking around on my Pinterest the other day I ran across one of these photos and
found myself still inspired!

Three years later, this look still works. People are still rocking it. That qualifies
under timeless style, which I am always a fan of. Over the last year or two,
I have adopted a style similar to hers. I remember her saying in this article
that half of what she wears is from her husbands closet. Which is kind of extremely
fantastic. I could live off of scarves, blazers, cardigans, button-ups, and a touch
of feminine jewelry. I actually kind of do!

Layering necklaces is a great way to dress up any outfit and really

show your personal style. It can funk up a patterned shirt or dress up a plain
white tee that you love. I have heard way too many people say that they would love

to do it but don't think they can pull it off. That is one thing that no one is allowed to say to

me! If you like something, have the confidence to rock it! End of story.

The key to layering your necklaces is getting the right lengths. As you can see in my photo, I paired three necklaces that were all different lengths and styles. One short and chunky, one long and thin, and the shortest is thin with rhinestones that dangle. In the other photo, she pairs one chunky necklace with a longer one.

It does take a little practice to perfect this. Sometimes I just look at my wall of

necklaces and try them on together until I find a pair that is

absolutely fabulous. The key is to get two, three, or even five necklaces that compliment

each other in length. In my opinion, one chunky one is always a good start.

I was talking to someone the other day about personal styling and what I do. This person knew nothing about fashion, but was slightly obsessed with the makeover that Kate Middleton has had the last few years. And honestly, who isn't absolutely infatuated with the world's newest duchess?

After having this conversation, I went home and looked up the transformation. She is a beautiful, stunning woman. And I will say that everyone can look at pictures from growing up and be a little embarrassed. I definitely can! Regardless, it was a wonderful reminder of how important and vital a good wardrobe makeover can be.

I truly believe that finding a style that flatters your body and expresses who you are can give a recognizable and life changing confidence. I think these next few photos are evidence of this. Granted, not everyone will have the support nor budget that Kate had. I have never had even close to the money this lady shops with, but I have always done just fine finding clothes that are perfect for me!

I'd like to believe that every single American adult knows who is being referenced when people say - 'I have a dream...' However, I wonder if all of those people realize what kind of dream he was talking about. We all have personal goals and dreams. Do we all have dreams that are bigger than ourselves, like he did?

Today is a reminder to think, what can I do for the world I live in? What difference can I make, where do I see struggle and how can I help?

You have to have faith that you can make that change.
Without faith, it can't happen. Your dreams might sound crazy. MLK might have
thought his dreams were larger than life too. But that didn't stop him!

I have said this before and I am not afraid to say it again: I am

a very obsessive person. I just cannot deny that.

My most recent obsession (other than peanut butter froyo at Pinkberry) is the Lakers.

I am from LA and have never been against the Lakers, but was never really into basketball. In the last month, that has all changed. I am now a huge fan and make time to watch every game I can (see where the crazy obsessiveness comes in?).

Being that I love fashion, one of my favorite challenges is always playing the part of what I am doing. While watching the Lakers vs Portland game last week (I don't want to talk about it), I realized what my 'going to the bar to watch the game' outfit was really missing.

Obviously I custom designed these. I have yet to press buy.. but they are high on my wish list.

I didn't go for the purple and yellow, as I am still an all black everything kind of girl. But I will say, Kobes Nike shoes are black and gold, and so are the Steelers (my other team), so I find these to be perfect.

I am excited to rock these with my favorite skinnies and leather

jacket in the near future. What would your custom dunks look like??

Breakfast dates

One thing that I will be sharing on my blog this year is my love for food. I love

trying new restaurants and seeing what the hype is about. That is why I have to share my

love for my new favorite breakfast spot, Little Doms.

Little Doms is an adorable restaurant in Los Feliz. It is very charming and

old school, I absolutely love the decor.

Being that I work at a restaurant, I tend to be extra critical and observant of customer service. I have yet to be super impressed with my servers. However, I was won over when one of the hosts got my drink while the server was busy. The hosts have always been very friendly!

They are open for breakfast everyday (8am-3pm). I have yet to try their lunch/dinner, but the breakfast is worth going every week (which I do).

This is the first year that I am not making any resolutions. I mean of course I want to be completely wheat-free again and hit the gym more often, but isn't that always a goal??

I am setting high expectations for 2012. Finishing school gives me a lot of free time to focus on what I am passionate about.. or to get lazy. I will obviously avoid the latter. Thinking about 2012 was the perfect wake up call to get real serious about my goals!

One of my goals is getting back on my blog. I have decided to write about more then only fashion. I will be sharing my love for food, public speaking, and some of my work

in assisting to coordinate weddings with Dovetail.

These are just a few of my highlights from 2011. The major one that I did not fit on here is finishing school a year early, which definitely took up the entire first 8 months of the year.

Now I am on the fun journey of figuring out what to do now that school is over! Join me next year in seeing what develops.

People. How do you do it? How is this not a problem for everyone??

I LOVE SHOPPING. I LOVE NEW THINGS!

I've always blamed it on my love for fashion.
Nevertheless, it is a serious problem.

These are a few of the things that I am currently fighting
myself against.. don't you think I need them?

1. Thanks to Joanna at A CUP OF JO, I am now dying to have this
adorable sweater from J. Crew. I'd probably go for the cream one with the black heart.
I love hearts.. and if you haven't noticed, I am addicted to sweaters. Being said.. perfect fit?

(PS - between my writing and posting this article I bought it in navy and green- should be delivered next week!)

2. Keurig Elite Brewing System
I am aware that this has nothing to do with fashion. HOWEVER, anyone who drinks coffee knows that these are seriously amazing. In the long run, it would totally save me money. Right?

3. This one isn't for me. Tis' the season for shawl collared cardigans- I see another blog about these in the near future. I LOVE THEM. They look amazing on every dude. ALL OF YOU.

Of course, J. Crew has some amazing sweaters- like this one!

Let's see how long I go without purchasing these things...

I came, I saw, I conquered

It is obvious and undeniable that I did a lot of eating in NYC. I did manage to enjoy the city in non-stuffing my face activities! I highly recommend the following:

1. St. Paul's Cathedral / Ground Zero

We unfortunately did not get tickets to Ground Zero to see the amazing waterfall they have installed. The tickets are free, but you must print them!! We did walk through the Cathedral across the street, where they have the entire space dedicated to 9/11. Whether it be photos of the ones we lost, fireman uniforms, or this fireman suit covered in badges from all over the country. It is a solemn reminder of what we lost that day. Definitely worth the visit. The church was extremely packed, even on a Friday morning.

2. Jay Z and Kanye

Okay, this may not always be an option. However I was able to get tickets to see them perform at the Garden! Insane. Yeezi and Hova started the show with HAM, on these two rising platforms. It was life-changing. I also read Jay Zs book, Decoded, on my flight to NYC, It was a very Hova week indeed...

3. Murray's Cheese Class

OH MY GOODNESS. I highly recommend/demand that you do this on

your next visit to the Big Apple. We did Cheese 101 with Josie, who was a serious rockstar.

It was $50 for 1.5 hours of unlimited wine and champagne, cheese, and learning how to pair cheese with other foods for the best flavor. SO incredibly fun and worth it!

4. Walking the Brooklyn Bridge

I am never a fan of looking like a tourist. However, this was seriously worth it. I'd recommend walking it during the day for a better view of the city. Nonetheless, it is a great little walk that drops you off right at Grimaldi's, a famous pizza spot in Brooklyn.

5. Canal Street

I am not into knock-offs and therefore thought I could write off Canal St. However, when Elizabeth and I walked out of the subway and found ourselves in the middle of the chaos, we had to look around. We bought tons of perfume for probably 75% off the normal price- Daisy by Marc Jacobs and Light Blue by Dolce and Gabana, to name a few. And I got the watch in the left photo for $15! The other jewelry we found at a little market inside of a church on Sunday. Wish I could tell you where.. but I can tell you that the jewelry was stunning, as you can see. I mean seriously.. I love that starfish!

6. Central Park

I can't describe my love for Central Park. It is truly my happy place. Elizabeth took the last picture without my knowledge. It is really the only place that I can sit for a long time and do absolutely nothing. Don't need my phone, people, music. Just escape. I love it.

7. MOMA

DUDES. Seeing Starry Night in person was freaking INSANE. I didn't know what to do. There I am standing in front of some Jackson Pollock. I freaking love abstract art. So so so much. I never appreciated it until I took Contemporary Art in college. They had an exhibit on de Kooning and one piece, this last one, almost made me cry. I was mesmerized. Such a beautiful experience.

8. Radegast Hall and Biergarten

This was my first beer garden experience and it was pretty perfect. Went there for out last night in NYC. It was two blocks from where we stayed and we were there for five hours! It was pretty empty, but not awkward. We made friends with the bartenders and they had my favorite beer (Lindeman's Peche)... so basically, it was a blast. Super cool vibe, gorgeously decorated.

There are at least 1,000,000 other things to do in NYC. But these were some of my faves :)

How to eat everything in NYC

Last week I took a trip to New York City. I really freaking love that city.
Can't wait till the time comes when I man up and move there...

It has become a subconscious tradition for me to have a list of things I want to see every time I go. New York is so big, you can never see everything in one trip. Being said, I always get as many recommendations as possible and commit myself to seeing and eating as much on my 'list' as I can.

The list starts to take over my brain.

Here I am with the list, day one.

Eating is a big part of my trips to NYC. Thank God for all of the walking... I really just go from one restaurant to another, splitting meals and trying everything!!

Let me share the goodies that I discovered.

1. The Meatball Shop. OH man how I loved this place. It was on my list and when we arrived in Williamsburg to stay with my friend Tim at 11:30 PM, it just so happened to be the place he took us.

The first time, I ordered the special special, which was chile relleno meatballs with salsa verde and queso sauce. YUM. We also ordered the special special ice cream sandwich, which was hazelnut cookies with pumpkin ice cream. I wish I could explain how delicious these meals were.

The second time, because of course we went again, I ordered the chicken meatballs with pesto sauce and the brownie cookies with caramel ice cream. The brownie cookies are life changing, and the meatballs were, of course, outstanding.

Also, fun fact, I walked into the restaurant and thought I knew the bartender. After looking at him a second longer, I realized that I absolutely do not personally know him, but he is an awesome blogger with great style, This Fellow. Super nice dude, it was my first blogger sighting!

2. Cafe Gitane. This was a great breakfast spot in Soho. Watermelon mimosas and avocado toast are a must. My friend Elizabeth and I shared baked eggs with sausage. I had never eaten baked eggs before and this was a great introduction! Highly recommend this cute little french restaurant.

3. Shanghai Gourmet. There is really only one reason to go to this little hole in the wall in Chinatown. They have SOUP DUMPLINGS. Doesn't make sense does it? Dumplings with pork soup INSIDE. So yummy. Elizabeth and I went in January when we visited NYC and made it mandatory that we return. And its super cheap, like 6 for $4. Win win.

4. Eatily. This place was recommended to me by about five different people, so I knew we had to hit it up. It is a ginormous Italian restaurant that has 6 different restaurants, all focused on one thing -pizza, pasta, fish, etc. We chose the rooftop restaurant, where I enjoyed the probusto sausage and olive oil smashed potatoes . We also checked out their gelato, which was so creamy you almost can't finish it. But you do.

5. Momofuku Milk Bar. Compost cookies. I can't really describe them, but you just have to taste it for yourself. Yum. Great little bakery, and they have cereal milk flavored ice cream that will blow your mind.

6. Vinnies Pizza in Williamsburg. Elizabeth and I came to our last day of the trip and realized we hadn't had any pizza. We hit up the closest pizza spot that had good Yelp reviews. SUCH a good decision!! It was delicious. We tried Mac and cheese, quesadilla, honey mustard chicken and BBQ chicken pizza. YUM YUM YUM.

7. Peanut Butter and Co. This place made me so very jealous of NYU students. Gourmet peanut butter sandwiches. Multiple kinds of peanut butter. They will even cut the crust off for you! And they deliver. Goodness.... We tried the Elvis, which was peanut butter, honey and bananas, and the Cinnamon Raisin Swirl, with cinnamon peanut butter, apples, and vanilla cream cheese. If you like peanut butter, which you should, you will love this place.

8. Waffles & Dinges. This little cart of heaven was a great find. It had been recommended, but what are the chances you see a cart in NYC that was just recommended the day before? It consists of a delicious and fluffy waffle with toppings galore. I chose to have strawberries, bananas, Belgian chocolate sauce, and spekuloos spead- which is apparently made of love and magic. I am not going to lie.. I definitely may have gone for seconds. YUMYUMYUM!

9. The one place that we did not get to that I am dying to try is Hudson Clearwater. A very cute restaurant that is impossible to experience- tried to make reservations twice but they were booked both nights. Till next time...

It's no secret that I am absolutely 100% obsessed with Bee from Atlantic - Pacific. She has a very unique style that I find extremely inspiring.

One thing that Bee is incredible at is rocking her button-ups. She layers them on top of each other, with sweaters, jackets, dresses, skirts... you name it.

Of course I have now invested in more button-ups, such as these two from J. Crew.

Bee and Karla from Karla's Closet both have the chambray one that I have,

which I kind of love.

It is super easy to rock these like Bee or Karla. The button-up no longer belongs to old ladies, politicians and librarians. There are many ways to make it young and fabulous!

Wear one with a chunky necklace, jeans and your favorite pumps. The options are endless: throw on a blazer, pair them with a skirt, grab a bow-tie. My advice is to collect as many as you can and just start pairing things together. Try one with your favorite sweater.

It is a timeless piece that you won't regret purchasing.

I never live in fear, I'm too out of my mind

I have said it before and I am not ashamed to say it again - high fashion isn't of much interest to me. I love the feel of fashion week. I was able to go in February of 2010 to NYC fashion week and it was one of the best weekends of my life. But other then that, what I really get excited to see is the photos that Vogue posts after the craziness of fashion month is over. These photos are absolutely stunning.

I love everything about this look. I am obsessed with sweaters, necklaces, and

being comfortable these days..

I wouldn't mind wearing a different version of this outfit everyday. Which explains

why my outfit today is so very similar!

1. Drop Shoulder Sweater from Forever 21 - Got this for only $15! Super comfy, love the color.

Must note that the sweater looks much better in person. I definitely don't recommend wearing the white tank underneath as it takes away from the beautiful rosy color.

2. Investigative Loafer by Seychelles from Nordstroms - My admiration for lady's rockin menswear grew when I found these adorable loafers. Also very comfortable.

3. Locket necklace from J. Crew - I got this adorable locket for my birthday. I love it for its simplicity.

Kanye West debuted his first line ever at Paris fashion week. Ciara called the show a historic event. Apparently the rapper was heard saying multiple times that he was very nervous before the show! Yeezi of course had many high profile guests, such as Anna Wintour and the Olsen's in the front row.

*Funny side note, Sky Ferreira was also in the front row, who I had to sneak into a Betsey Johnson show in NYC a few years back because she didn't have tickets! Look at her now :)

Kanye said he wanted to end the 'celebrity designer' qualifier. But at the end of the day, he isn't a new designer. He is freaking KANYE WEST.

It was definitely the most wearable fashion show I have ever seen. Besides all of the cleavage, most of his pieces were realistic.. and being someone who isn't crazy about high fashion, I can definitely respect that!

I love all of the white!

If I could rock that black dress on the left, I would. It MAY be too much.

I am not a fur girl, but without it I think the cream dress is beautiful!

Folks. I did not realize when I decided to take 31 units this summer how insane of an idea that actually is! I am basically doing two semesters in 3 months.. yikes. And I also have 3 jobs. Double yikes.

In August... I am in a wedding, I turn 21, and I am taking 3 4-week intensive classes.

The good news is that once September rolls around, I am done with classes forevvverr.

Hallelujah.

Until then, I will keep staring at this photo and dream of being in Bora Bora...

Spring is here and I am more then ready! I am wearing my favorite sandals today for the first time this year, which means it is definitely no longer winter (I CANNOT stand when people wear summery things in winter, even if it is sunny).

I have many, many items that I want to buy this spring. The looks and colors are extremely beautiful, we are getting a bit more feminine and classy and trending away from crazy edginess.Which is a transition I am ready for.

One thing that I really really need is shoes. Practical, everyday shoes. I have realized that 85% of my shoe collection includes heels. And as much as I love all of them, they aren't the best for my everyday lifestyle.

I have been on the hunt for cute flats/oxfords/sandals for months. I am learning that buying pricier shoes is just the way to go. Cheap shoes just aren't cutting it. It is a sad realization for me.. but I must accept it.

If you know any amazing places to get somewhat affordable and cute shoes, please let me know! I feel I have searched everywhere in LA. That might not be true though..

Lately I have been on an extreme movie kick. I don't know exactly what pinpointed it, but I am on a mission to watch every good movie that I have missed.

My friends have always made fun of my movie choices. I usually prefer a comedy or chick flick to a 'good' movie. Why watch the horror of Brooklyn's Finest when Forgetting Sarah Marshall is already on (judge me, its fine)?

The truth is, I didn't like watching all of these movies because they seemed depressing to me. My friends Jo and Adam always told me that they aren't depressing, they are reality. But not MY reality. So I avoided them. Now I am learning so much about life and the world, and struggles other people have to go through. It is much better then living in my own bubble, that is for sure.

Oh, the fun of growing up and expanding your worldview.

So far I have seen:

This morning I was studying like crazy for my midterm in Contemporary Art Trends.. had to memorize 50 art pieces and was only tested on 12! Ridiculous. But I love that class, so it was worth it. And I definitely did well.
When I went to get dressed to go to class, I tried to get dressed quickly. However, I ended up loving the result!

The Academy.

This year I was very excited for the Academy Awards because it was the first year I had seen most of the movies nominated. I usually stick to chick flicks, which don't usually get nominated for an Oscar. However, this year I saw: Inception, The Social Network, The Fighter, The King's Speech, Toy Story 3, How to Train Your Dragon, Alice in Wonderland, and Black Swan.

My faves? The Kings Speech, Black Swan, The Social Network and The Fighter. I recommend you see them all though. Amazing for their own reasons. I also loved Inception, but mainly for the awesome effects.

Anne Hathaway & James Franco. NO COMMENT. I will say, however, that Hathaway can SING! I never knew. And I 100% vote that Franco was stoned out of his mind.

I was extremely happy with all The Kings Speech wins, as well as Natalie Portman's best actress- mostly because I won $5 at my Grandmas Annual Academy party!

The stunner of the night for me was Cate Blanchett in her Givenchy Couture gown. GORGEOUS.

Mila Kunis was also glowing in Elie Saab. I think I am a fan of lavender this time around.

My favorite of Anne Hathaway's 1000 dresses had to be the Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci gown.

AND yay, Colin Firth for the win. So very English and charming.

Going along with my obsession over menswear, I cannot help but notice that we are all wearing Clark-like boots these days. Although this has been going on for a few months, at this point it seems that 9 out of 10 people (with style) own a pair.

It's time for you to become part of that statistic (that I just made up, but you get the point).

I personally own the Dolce Vita Bailey's in taupe. I love them, they are comfortable and go great with practically everything. I'm considering getting them in black, I love them so much.

Clarks are the original desert boot. The dudes come in many colors, but you can see quite a similarity from the female DV and the male Clarks.

Boy oh boy.

I really need to step my blog game up, I have not been blogging at all since school started. Only perk, it is crazy now so that come September it'll be over. But then real life begins, so I am sure I will not be any less busy..

I am also writing for my schools newspaper, The Clause, this semester. I am writing weekly fashion-related articles for them in the Lifestyle section, so please check that out!! I just did one on the Golden Globes, which was fun to write.

I am planning a photo shoot with my friend and photographer, Adam Fratus, that I am really excited about. I am extremely obsessed with menswear right now. I love that at this time in fashion, guys and girls can wear the exact same thing and it works. My guy friends have experienced my love for this, having stolen and borrowed so many items from them (although guys don't really wear girls things, that's just a gender thing. I bet some guy would!).

If you pay attention to blogs like the Sartorialist, or even Lookbook, you will notice that guys and girls are wearing all the same things: cardigans, oxfords, blazers, suspenders, chambray, military, bow ties.. the list goes on. It is fascinating!

Although I must admit, I don't believe in color rules when getting dressed. If it looks good, wear black and brown, or blue and black. Or all 4, if you love it!

And fell in love.

I was lucky enough to spend my New Years in NYC (see how behind I am? January is almost over!) and have to tell you guys something...
I thought I was NYC's biggest fan. Growing up in LA, I was not too impressed with my city after going to New York for the first time in 2009 (I can't believe that was two years ago). Always want what you can't have, right? And then I went to New York again for fashion week last February, and thought I was sold. NYC is way better then LA.

False.

After being there for a week, I now appreciate my city much more.

But I do love that city.. to visit :)

I must admit, I am no high-fashion expert. I don't really care to obsess over clothes that I will never buy, although I can admire their beauty. My old coworkers used to constantly laugh at my mispronunciations of Lanvin and Joie. I have gotten a bit better.

Being said, the dresses at the Golden Globes this year were phenomenal. I do love seeing the beautiful gowns. When I worked for a celebrity stylist, my favorite part was being able to see the actresses try them all on!

Leighton Meester in Burberry - I think this dress is gorgeous, and does a great job representing her personal style.

Eva Longoria in Zac Posen - Flattering & age appropriate. She is so gorgeous!

Emma Stone in Calvin Klein - I barely recognized her! Stunning.

Mila Kunis in Vera Wang - I love this color and cut on her. And the hair is perfect! Amazing dress!

Olivia Wilde in Marchesa - At first, I hated the gold shoes. But at the same time, they are kind of awesome and make a statement. Sold.

Ryan Gosling, in Salvatore Ferragamo - I love that they are both rocking the bow ties.

I have started school this week. I am finishing all of my school life in August (hallelujah), which means that it is go time. I am kinda sorta combining two school years in one to graduate early, which means I am taking around 10 classes this semester.. and I may have just petitioned for another (I know, I am insane).

I believe in mixing them both.

When I was younger, my grandma would always make me dress up for the airport. Back then, I would have preferred sweats. Now I appreciate her strict outfits because they make me always want to rock it at the airport. You just never know who you will see! It is such an adventure.

I love me some cheetah print. I didn't know until this season, however the few items I have are fun. Cheetah print can add a lot to a look, even something as simple as a beret or socks (the two cheetah things I own).

I am trying to stay warm, no one can even see my outfits underneath the peacoats, gloves, scarves, and more layers that I am wearing.

I cannot lie. I secretly totally love this outfit. It is as J. Crew and preppy as I get. What I have always admired about J. Crew (as far as the ladies style goes) is their amazing talent to layer. This outfit, I must admit, has some awesome layers.

Merry Christmas friends!

I hope you all have a lovely holiday. I have so far, with my ten year old brother waking us up at 6:45.. the latest we have ever been able to sleep in on Christmas.

I got some amazing gifts, one of which I can already tell will be quite handy. I got a mini sewing machine, and I already altered one of my gifts into something I will wear all the time. Excited to see what else I can do with it.

It was brought to my attention by my Grandma that 1-1-11 is quickly approaching. Which means this New Years is even more epic then I have imagined. Being that I am going to NYC, I may be overlooking Christmas and instead be focused on my trip. Since it is such an important date, it requires an equally important outfit. I love the color of this dress, as well as how simple it is. You can dress it up or down, depending on what your New Years plans are.

3. Black Magic Sequin Blazer at Nasty Gal
This is awesome, as well as practical. Most New Years outfits are not re-wearable, however this one is casual enough that you can throw it over a white tee with jeans for a special party or dinner throughout the year. GREAT GIFT.

I am obsessed with this. I love bows.. and when I go to NYC in NINE days, I may need to purchase this! It's adorable. Get it for one of your adorable friends.

I have a hat similar to this in purple, and I love it. Very unique and easier to pull off then it may seem.

Hats are brilliant gifts because they are not pricey and will be used a ton (if you choose the right one). So for you last minute shoppers, I'd say a hat would be a great choice!

I know these aren't boots boots, but I need them. I am mad at myself for not buying them at LF when I had the chance.. and the discount.

It actually feels like Christmas over here in LA! It has been raining a ton, and is supposed to for the next few days. I love it :)

Today I did almost all of my Christmas shopping in the rain, with a delicious peppermint mocha from Starbucks (my new addiction). Felt just right!

In preparing for my trip to NYC at the end of this month (12 days!!), I have been worried and consumed by the fact that I do not have an amazing peacoat to keep me warm. Yet in the last few days, I have realized that you don't only need one for NYC, but we need them sometimes here in LA!

A coat is a staple that every man and woman should have, just in case.

This one is simple as well, but a little more unique. I love the hood, and the color. And the huge buttons. It is kind of incredible..

Okay ladies, there are simple and chic coats that you can buy that will last forever. However, there are tons of amazing coats that may not last every season, but you can definitely rock them hard core until they can't be rocked anymore! I encourage you to check out Topshop's coats.. they are worth it.

This coat is not only classic and black, but it would be extremely flattering, which isn't always the case with peacoats. I love the way this one falls, it would be a smart purchase.

Inspiration: A few weeks ago I was at Da Poetry Lounge and noticed a few guys rocking varsity style jackets. Got me thinking..

Result: Last Friday, my friend Ivan (the jack of all trades) took some incredible photos of my friend Johan and I in these jackets. It was a fun challenge to dress a guy and a girl in very similar clothing, yet make them unique and their own. I will definitely be repeating this challenge with other looks in the future, and open to any ideas/requests/suggestions!!
